Shadow the Hedgehog is a black hedgehog and a recurring anti-hero of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He made his first appearance in Sonic Adventure 2. Shadow is the main and titular character of the 2005 video game, Shadow the Hedgehog. He typically appears as the rival of Sonic the Hedgehog, but the two of them have sometimes joined forces to achieve a common goal.
Shadow was created by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, with the DNA of Black Doom, and was made to be the Ultimate Lifeform.
