Super Sonic is a recurring Super Transformation, typically for Sonic, in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It first appears in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. When Sonic collects all seven Chaos Emeralds, he becomes Super Sonic, and his fur changes to gold. The Super Sonic form is fueled by Rings, so if Sonic runs out of them, he reverts to his usual form. Super Sonic has a few similar forms, such as Hyper Sonic and Darkspin Sonic.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Sonic appears as Sonic's Final Smash. When Sonic becomes Super Sonic, he automatically flies around the stage rapidly, dealing high knockback damage to any fighters whom he hits.
