Sonic Generations is a title in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and the sequel to the 2010 title Sonic Colors. It follows Sonic the Hedgehog and a version of Sonic from the past in their journey through their past as they try to return to their own time period.
The game was announced on April 18, 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a 3DS version and PC port announced later in the year. Sonic Generations was released for the 20th Anniversary of the release of Sonic the Hedgehog on November 1, 2011 in North America, with international releases throughout the remainder of the year.
